A relatively recent discovery from the highlands of Peru, the Marshel variety is a testament to nature's resilience and capacity for surprise. Celebrated for its remarkable disease resistance and an exceptionally complex, high-quality cup profile, Marshel is a rare gem in the specialty coffee world. Its unique combination of robust genetics and delicate, exotic flavours makes it one of the most exciting new varieties to emerge from South America.

Flavour

Marshel is renowned for its sophisticated and refined flavour profile. It typically presents a clean, well-structured, and effervescent acidity with a creamy body. Common tasting notes are intensely floral and fruity, including jasmine, white grape, honeydew, raspberry, black cherry, and tropical fruits, often complemented by sweeter notes of marzipan, sweet potato, and candied chestnut.

Terrior

Marshel thrives at high altitudes, typically between 1750m and 1850m, in the fertile volcanic soils of regions like Cajamarca, Peru. Its most notable characteristic is its robust resistance to common coffee diseases, allowing it to flourish where other, more delicate varieties might fail.
