Overview

Sabor Coffee import this coffee directly from the family farm, Finca Las Cruces, nestled just outside Quinchia in Risaralda Colombia. The combination of lush volcanic soil with an equatorial mountain climate (hot days and cool nights) provides the ideal conditions to produce coffee of exceptional quality.

Find sweet flavours of berries, digestives, nuts and a cocoa powder finish, this versatile coffee works amazingly well in espresso-based drinks, with milks and also filter brew methods.

Origin

Nestled just outside the town of Quinchia, Finca Las Cruces is a family farm located in the heart of Colombia's renowned coffee triangle, the Zona Cafetera. Situated in Risaralda, a department in central-western Colombia, the farm enjoys a prime spot between the West and Central Cordillera of the Andes, along the canyon of the Cauca River. This region, with its lush volcanic soil and equatorial mountain climate, offers the perfect conditions for cultivating exceptional coffee.

The farm spans 10 hectares, with 7.5 hectares dedicated to growing coffee and plantain, while the remaining land is preserved as a natural reserve for water conservation. At an altitude of 1600 to 1800 meters above sea level, this small-holder farm thrives, producing two exquisite varieties of Arabica coffee: Castillo and Catimor, from around 27,500 planted trees.

The result is a coffee that's smooth and full-bodied, with delightful fruity notes and a medium to mild acidity. Each sip leaves a delicate cocoa finish that lingers on the palate, a testament to their dedication to quality. Coffee is lovingly hand-picked, peeled, fermented, and washed using the farm's spring water, before being sun-dried to perfection.

At Finca Las Cruces, tradition is blended with passion to bring a coffee experience that's both exceptional and unforgettable.

My house coffee

It's a beautiful coffee that's working well for me in espresso and filter. It's solid every time and doesn't get boring. Not bitter like a lot of espresso's can be and not whacky either. My house coffee and will get it every time.

Another great roast

Complex flavour profile, tangy notes but not too strong on the tangy side, worked great for espresso based milk recipes
