- Brew time: 10mins
- Equipment: Cafetiere, Scales, Kettle, Two Spoons
How we enjoy this brew
After waking up slowly, this is our brew method of choice to ease into Sunday morning.
Notes
The Cafetiere is a great way to explore coffee, most people have one in the cupboard already. With a bit of care, you can make a fantastic brew incredibly easily.
We’re brewing Calli Blend here, which is available pre-ground for filter brew methods.
Steps
- Start by clicking on your kettle, then weigh out 60 grams of ground coffee per litre for your cafetiere.
- Tip your grounds into the cafetiere.
- Wait for your kettle to boil and leave it a minute or so before pouring into the cafetiere, now set your timer for five minutes
- After five minutes, stir the contents three times
- (Optional) Using both spoons, scoop any floating grounds off the top
- Don't plunge, wait another five minutes
- After five minutes your coffee is now ready to pour, but don’t push the plunger down(!) because it can sometimes cause some bitterness in the cup
- Enjoy black or add your favourite milk
